  • The battery has an 8-year or 100,000 mile warranty for 70% of its charge capacity. 
  • A specific and tailored service contract offering, including a 7-day-a-week breakdown service that covers the case of a discharged battery. 
  • After servicing, if the customer has a maintenance contract, a battery capacity certificate can be provided at their request. This may facilitate the resale of the vehicle by certifying the level of battery capacity.

ECOLOGY

Life Cycle Analysis :

 

According to the Transport & Environment (T&E) study: an electric vehicle emits 50% less CO2 over its entire life cycle, compared to the average European internal combustion engine vehicle.

100% electric vehicles do not emit any CO2 or other polluting gases when driving.

The carbon footprint of the electric vehicle depends on how the electricity is produced, but also on the C02 emissions associated with the manufacture of the battery.

 

THE MANUFACTURE OF ELECTRIC VEHICLES AND THEIR BATTERIES

The composition of the battery of an electric vehicle

 

  • The lithium-ion battery does not contain rare earth metals.
  • Steel, aluminium and plastics are the 3 main components.

 

PEUGEOT requires its suppliers for the supply of raw materials that they:

  • ensure that these materials are supplied in a responsible manner,
  • submit the detailed composition of the materials used and their sources, for certain products.

The PEUGEOT-ONF Forest Carbon Sink project was initiated by PEUGEOT in 1998 and aims to understand the restoration dynamics of tropical forests and their role in the absorption and storage of greenhouse gases. 

 

Located in north-western Mato Grosso, Brazil, the project has a total area of 10,287 ha, including over 7,000 ha of preserved Amazonian forest and 2,000 ha of former pastureland. Since 1999, more than 2.5 million trees of mostly native species have been planted on these deteriorated soils and a forest has been re-established.
